For $79.95/month ZER01 Mobile (a new mobile carrier) is introducing a new plan that offers unlimited everything. Unlimited Voice / Data Transfer / Texting / Internet (24/7) Unlimited Calling to the US and Canada for Domestic Plan. Unlimited Calling to US/Canada and 40 other countries with the International Plan, $89.95 a month. ZER01 touts it is the first Mobile Virtual Enabler Company to offer true Mobile Voice over IP services at a carrier level. They have all data traffic from their customers routed out of the MNO’s networks to their own data and call routing network and providing their own support and billing services.
Apparently ZER01 did a soft launch on July 1 to a select group of people. A widespread launch is expected later this summer. There has not been a lot of press considering the magnitude of how this would affect the major carriers. I am eager to see how this will work. There hasn’t been a whole lot of new information on their website regarding how customers can sign up. In a quick google search I did, I was directed to multilevel marketing programs for the carrier.
